How many YouTube sensation artists can say they have been on the Ellen DeGeneres Show not once but twice? Not many that I can recall, but this singer/songwriter is Joseph Vincent has. Joseph is a Filipino who is born, raised, and based in Los Angeles. Joseph is known for many of his cover renditions such as "Just a Dream”, "Hold My Hand”, and "Grenade”. His YouTube channel has over 300,000 subscribers and has over 60 million video views in the past five years. He also released his debut album just weeks before his tour kicked off titled "Blue Skies" which is also the title of his East and West coast tour in the United States.
When I first found out that Joseph was coming to Jammin Java, I told my sister about it, and she was overly ecstatic. She and I went ahead and bought tickets as soon as tickets went on sale. Months went by and Joseph and his management team announces that he was selling VIP tickets after months of already selling general admission tickets. The VIP tickets included meet and greet, signed poster, signed album, and early entry into the show. My sister and I were pretty surprised and shocked that Joseph decided to sell VIP tickets much later instead of selling them at same time when he released his general admission tickets. Just weeks before the show, I was told I could contact his tour manager and was able to pay the difference to get VIP tickets.
I arrived at the show at about 5pm which is as early as I could get there after leaving work to ensure I could geta good seat for me and my sister. Meet and greet was also before the show because there was a late show after Joseph's show. Iwas introduced to Joseph's tour manager and paid him the difference to get my VIP ticket as well as the VIP wristband. Around 5:30pm, doors opened for the VIP ticket holders, and soon learned 98% of the people that attended Joseph's show was girls, and most of them were under the age of 21, so I felt a bit out of place. Once I got pictures with Joseph and got him to sign the poster and CD for my sister, I went to save front row seats for my sister and myself.
The show started promptly as scheduled since two shows were booked that night. Joseph came out to a roaring and screamingcrowd of fans with his band to back him up for this show.He performed a total of thirteen songs, of which, two and a half were covers and the rest were originals from his debut album "Blue Skies”. He also was overly joyed from the turnout and support, he and his band performed an encore performance. He also performed "Bumble Bee" unplugged in the middle of the crowd which all the girls were really enjoying and going crazy for. He practically performed all of his songs from his album at his show.As an onstage live performer, Joseph sounded just as good as he does sound on YouTube. Sometimes you watch YouTube musicians live and you get a different feel and sound from them. With technology today such as DSLR cameras and affordable video editing software, anyone can create their own music videos and high quality uploads on YouTube and using autotune to make them sound good. Joseph is definitely not in one in these groups; he sings well recorded as well as in at a live show. If you love his covers, you'll definitely enjoy his show and his performance live onstage.
I was able to capture his show at Jammin Java on video. If you were unable to make it to his Virginia show, you can check them out below by individual performance or by clicking on embedded video to view his show in its entirety.

After Joseph's show and encore performance, I really didn't stick around for too long since his meet and greet was before the show. I did run into my good friend Amanda Lee who was there to catch the later part of the show and to promote for her show later this month in November. It was quite a surprise seeing her there that night, but always great seeing her. I left the show shortly after satisfied with the show minus feeling out of place with very little guys attending Joseph's show. The lighting for his show in the second half of the show was incredible! It was really bright and the spotlights started to come on! I was like having a shark feeding frenzy taking pictures with the spotlights. Please do check out the pictures I captured that night from his show by clicking on the collage or the links below.
